So you haven’t exactly been a follower of the television series and probably couldn’t care less about the mid-life issues and (often libidinous) adventures of our dear Manhattanite friends.
So the first SATC movie wasn’t exactly a masterpiece and was, in fact, a drag.
So you do not exactly know who Mr. Big is and probably wouldn’t swoon at the sight of him, nor will your heart break when his marriage to Carrie goes through a rough spot. I’m thinking that, likewise, you’ll find it terribly difficult to sympathize with Charlotte’s hot nanny issues, or Miranda’s career problems, or Samantha’s paranoia about her dwindling sex drive.
Nonetheless, Rache, I would still like you to watch this movie, if only for New York. It is, after all, the biggest star of the film. Falling in love with Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha requires some degree of acquaintance (in my case, that means watching all six seasons of the now-definct TV series), but New York- ah, New York!- requires absolutely no introductions. Watch this movie, Rache! It is New York at its most beautiful. I just know this film will make you want to drop everything and flee to the Big Apple– it had that effect on me.
Why I know you’ll like this movie: They go out for cocktails and nibble on fancy canapes all the time. That’s the Rachey dream!
Rating: It’s a lovely movie to watch on a lazy Saturday morning. SATC 2 is, I think, exactly the kind of movie a man would like a girl to be– very pretty and requires minimal cerebral activity.
